Birth & Postnatal Doula

Birth Educator

Meet Emma

As a mother of three wonderful young women now in their 20s, I have spent the equivalent of seven decades navigating the twists and turns of the female cycles

I’ve experienced four very different births - an induction (would not recommend !!), a home birth, a stillbirth via C-section, and finally an elective C-section with my youngest

These journeys deeply shaped my understanding of birth and the many paths it can take

I first trained as a doula in 2021. At the time, family needs meant I couldn’t step fully into practice, so I took a pause and refreshed my training in 2025

I continue to expand my skills: training as a Breastfeeding Peer Supporter, and from December 2025 I will be offering Closing the Bones ceremonies

Alongside my doula work, I bring a strong foundation in holistic therapies. I’m a qualified massage therapist, Level 2 Reiki practitioner, and teacher of Kundalini & Somatic Yoga - practices that support the body, mind, and spirit and are amazing for birth preparation

I have also studied Biomechanics for Birth and completed training in home birth emergencies

In 2023, I travelled to Portugal to support the birth of a friend’s first baby

Beyond birth work, I ran a small cake business for over ten years.  Later, I worked as a pastry chef at Warner Brothers Studios. My carrot cake, which I include in my birth and postnatal packages, received “compliments to the chef” from none other than Samuel L Jackson

Currently, I am a mentored doula. This is wonderful news for you, as it means my services are more affordable for a short time, and you benefit from having two doulas’ knowledge and experience for the (reduced) price of one

I trust the incredible wisdom of the female body to birth with grace and ease, when the right conditions are right. And I trust you - to know what those conditions are, and to allow me to support you in putting them in place

I live in Peacehaven, just outside Brighton, and happily travel up to an hour from my home to support women and families through pregnancy and birth

You can hear me in conversation with other women about their womb experiences on my podcast, Stories From The Womb.

Emma Wall Birth and Postnatal Doula introduction to Em-Powering Bumps & Births

  • Emma never told me what to do; instead, she held space in a way that helped me trust myself fully. She reminded me of the strength and intelligence already within me and made me feel completely safe in my own choices. Her unwavering support helped me shed fears and step into birth with clarity and trust.

  • Emma’s approach is gentle and grounded, reassuring without being overbearing. For any couple considering a home birth or free birth, especially if you’re looking for someone who will truly honour your autonomy and trust your instincts, I can’t recommend her enough.
