Quite simply…
A doula mothers the mother
One of the most transformative aspects of working with a doula is the continuity we offer — a steady, familiar presence throughout your pregnancy, birth, and beyond
A doula provides consistent, personalised support — someone who knows you, your story, your hopes and dreams, and your fears
Women who experience continuous care from a single trusted support person have:
Lower rates of intervention
Higher birth satisfaction
Shorter labours
Greater emotional wellbeing in the early days
Continuity of carer isn’t just comforting — it’s powerful, protective, and deeply human
Continuity of Carer
During our time together, as your doula I will be more than just a support person — I will be someone you can truly rely on
In moments of overwhelm or uncertainty, I will be there — to listen and hold your fears
In moments of joy and euphoria, I will be there — to celebrate with you
I offer a calm presence, my own life experience, and my deep intuition. Through my skills, knowledge and wisdom, I will help you to gently awaken your own inner knowing, so that your pregnancy and birth are able to unfold with confidence, connection, and ease
This is your experience, your story.
As your doula I am here to walk alongside you — with compassion, wisdom, and unwavering support
Grow Your Intuition
During birth, you will find yourself baring not only your body — but the most intimate, powerful, and vulnerable parts of your being
You’ll reach deep into your reserves — physically, emotionally, and spiritually
It makes sense that you’d feel safest doing this in the presence of people you know, like, and trust
That’s where a doula comes in
While not medically trained, a doula offers something different, something just as essential: doulas offer continuity, emotional safety, and unwavering presence
Your doula is with you throughout your pregnancy, by your side during birth, and there to support you in the early weeks with your new baby. She offers calm, grounded, reassuring care as you move through one of life’s most profound transformations
Birth isn't just a medical event — it's a rite of passage
You deserve to be deeply supported every step of the way — to activate your feminine power and feel empowered. With these foundations, you will start your motherhood journey in the best way possible
Feel Safe

FAQs
What’s the difference between a midwife and a doula?
A midwife is clinically trained and will monitor you and your baby (if you give your permission) during your labour and immediately after your baby is delivered
A doula offers emotional and physical support and guides her client to find her inner strength
Why might I hire a doula?
There is a lot of evidence that having support from a doula results in:
shorter labours
less need for medical interventions such as C sections and instrumental deliveries
better birth outcomes with the woman feeling empowered rather than traumatised
a smoother adjustment to parenthood
A doula is your best friend at this life changing time
Are doulas only for home or free birth?
Absolutely not
With 99% of births in the UK currently happening in hospital, supporting women at hospital births is a huge part of what doulas do
The great advantage of having a doula in a hospital setting is that she can advocate for you
She takes her knowledge of your hopes, dreams and fears for your birth and acts as a buffer between you and the clinicians who may try to move you away from your birth intentions
How do I know if a doula is the right fit for me?
Set up a free, no obligation chat with her. Remember to ask about:
Her training and experience
Her philosophy of birth
How she might handle complications or changes to a birth plan
Her availability around your due date
Remember, connection and communication are key. Follow your gut instincts
Do you feel safe with her?
Can you and your partner laugh and cry with her?
She is going to be with you at an extraordinarily intimate time of your lives - chemistry is vital
What does a doula do during pregnancy?
During pregnancy, a doula will:
listen to your hopes and fears for your birth and early parenthood
gently uncover and work through any fears or uncertainties you may be holding
dive into the physiology and psychology of birth, helping you feel informed and empowered
assist you to craft meaningful birth and postnatal plans that reflect your values and needs
curate a personalised list of tools, strategies, and essentials to support you during labour
signpost you to resources which will enable you to step into birth and parenthood with confidence and assuredness
Do doulas replace partners or family members?
Definitely not.
Doulas complement partners and family members. We offer support to your nearest and dearest as well as to you
Many of us (me included) offer time for your partner to share any hopes and fears they may have, apart from you
This ensures that you both feel safe and understand what is to come
When should I hire a doula?
You can hire a doula as early or as late as you like
Some people hire in the first trimester, others closer to their due date
Obviously the sooner you hire her, the longer you all have to build relationships and trust
Having a great birth is about educating yourself and the longer your doula is in your life, the more time she has to signpost you to great resources
Can a doula help if I’ve had a traumatic previous birth?
Yes.
Many doulas are trained in trauma-informed care and can help you process past experiences, rebuild confidence, and feel more in control during this birth
I had a stillbirth in 2004
I lived and survived probably the worst outcome for a pregnancy
My experience (and my smile) will remind you that everything changes and you are infinitely powerful
What does a doula do during labour?
During labor, a doula may:
Suggest position changes for comfort and progress
Provide massage or counter-pressure
Offer encouragement and reassurance
Advocate for your birth plan
Help you navigate decisions if unexpected situations arise
